Volunteer Opportunities

Spend a few hours sorting clothes or help pack a box for a local child in need! Volunteer as an individual or bring a group.  Volunteers must be 18 years old or accompanied by a parent/guardian. Children 12 and older are welcome with a parent. 

 Help us deliver Boxes of Basics!  All deliveries will be dropped off to one of our referring partners which is normally a school, government or community agency. We do not deliver directly to families. By signing up you agree to pick up boxes from our headquarters in Manassas, VA. 

  Hold  a community collection of new socks and underwear, winter coats, new shoes or organize your own children's clothing drive!  

  Neighborhood Captains serve as vital advocates in their communities to help local children in need. By sharing the Boxes of Basics mission, encouraging neighbors to donate children’s clothing, and spreading the word about drop-off locations, Neighborhood Captains expand awareness and increase clothing donations to meet growing demand. This role allows you to make a meaningful impact by dedicating a few hours each month—right from your neighborhood. 

 The program is perfect for volunteers who may not have time to work at our warehouse but still want to support local kids. By engaging your neighborhood, you’re helping us reach more families and provide children with the essentials they need to succeed.
