Opportunities for youth volunteers
We love when young people want to help and believe in teaching children the importance of giving back and helping others. We have designed a variety of volunteer projects specifically for our younger supporters.
Maybe you are in a scout troop, church youth group or just want your kids to have the opportunity to help.
Kids can make a difference and we would love to get them involved!
Boxes of Basics At Home - Al l Ages
Teaching children to give back and help others begins at home. Go through your child's outgrown clothing and put together everything we need for a Box of Basics! This is a great project that parents and kids can work on together in the comfort of your own home. This is a great project for a group or an individual family!
Host a Donation Drive - All Ages
Work with your kids or group to plan and host a donation drive. From collecting gently used children's clothing from their friends, winter coats from a sports team or coordinating a large collection effort at your school, donation drives are critical to Boxes of Basics. The more quality clothing we have, the more children we can help. Want to take it one step further? Host a sorting party at the end of the drive!
Talk to Your Dentist! - All Ages
Each Box of Basics contains a dental hygiene kit. We include a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss to help promote dental health. Click the button below and take this letter to your next dental visit! Ask your provider to donate items for our dental kits. Put the kits together at home or let us do the work.
Cards for Kids - All Ages
Each Box of Basics contains a handwritten note from a volunteer. Let your child or youth group get creative and design cards of positivity we can include in each box. Maybe it's a picture of a rainbow, or even a cool superhero. We would love to use your child's one-of-a-kind card in each box!
1. Please leave the inside of each card blank.
2. Cards can be any size. From 3x5 cardstock to an 81/2x11 sheet of paper.
Pack Boxes of Basics in our Warehouse
Warehouse Volunteers must be at least 12 years old and must be accompanied by a parent during the entire shift. We do not allow youth volunteers to be dropped off.
