What is the Teen Board?

Our Teen Board is made up of passionate high school students who volunteer their time to support Boxes of Basic’s mission. The program brings together teens from each local high school to work with mentors to develop and implement projects to meet the needs of local kids. Teens will get insight into the functions and demands of running a nonprofit organization while gaining hands-on leadership experience, collaborative project management skills and building organization and communications skills.

Teen Board Requirements

Applicants must be a sophomore or junior at a high school in Prince William County, The City of Manassas, The City of Manassas Park or Home School /Virtual School in one of these localities.
Applicants are required to submit an application, resume and complete an interview to be considered.
Teen Board members will be required to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours through the 2024-2025 school year (at our location in Manassas & remotely.)
Members will be expected to attend monthly meetings at our location.
Members will be required to organize one donation drive and serve as a Boxes of Basics ambassador in the community.
